Top 5 Best Restaurants in Ormond Beach

Step Out of the Office and Enjoy a Meal at One of Ormond Beach’s Best Lunch Spots…

Getting out of the office once in a while is just as important as making it in everyday, and a lunch out once a week can do wonders for your sanity and work productivity. Since I’ve already told you where to eat lunch in Daytona, here are the top 5 best restaurants to eat lunch in Ormond Beach…

1. La’s Bistro

Las bistro

63 West Granada Blvd.

Ormond Beach, FL 32174

386-676-5181

Breakfast: 9am-11am (Tues – Sat)

Lunch: 11am-3pm (Tues – Sat)

Brunch: 9am – 2pm (Sunday only)

La’s Bistro is a converted 1924 home that offers unbeatable old Florida ambiance. The restaurant features cutely decorated dining rooms and an outdoor patio beneath the shade of mature Magnolia trees and patio umbrellas (just in case). Enjoy a variety of lunch options from their menu, including sandwiches, salads, quesadillas, wraps, and specials like the ever-popular soup/salad/half sandwich combo – a luncher’s dream. My recommendation: They have crazy-good chicken salad! Don’t forget about this place on the weekend, La’s Bistro has an awesome brunch too!

2. Buffington’s Bar & Grill

I had a Maple Bacon Burger at Buffington's, still in awe!

I had a Maple Bacon Burger at Buffington’s, still in awe!

500 W. Granada Blvd.

Ormond Beach, FL 32174

386-492-6870

11am – 10 pm (Mon – Thurs)

11am – 1 am (Fri, Sat)

11am – 9pm (Sun)

You really can’t go wrong at Buffington’s, but two standouts for me are their curry and their burger. Unlike an Indian curry, theirs is a British curry, which has a sweeter more aromatic quality. It’s incredible on their fries or their coconut curry wings (which have surpassed Houligan’s wings in my book, *gasp*). Their burgers of the week are not to be missed. I’ve enjoyed about 6 now and each one has been a work of art. Just make sure to hold the onion and stay clear of messy sauces if you’re on a more professional business lunch (or a first date!).

3. Thai Woodhouse Restaurant

Sweet Soy Noodles Thai Woodhouse Ormond Beach Best Restaurant

362 W Granada Blvd Suite B

Ormond Beach, FL 32174

386-672-3222

11:30am – 9pm (Mon – Fri)

Noon – 9pm (Sat, Sun)

OK, I know I said Buffington’s had a great curry sauce, but this place has the absolute best curries in town! Thai Woodhouse Restaurant serves traditional Thai cuisine, so if you’re looking for something a little different than your regular old sandwich, soup or salad – this is the place to go. Their appetizers are great and modestly priced; why not share one at lunch with your companion/s to kill the tension and hunger pangs before the main course? For lunch I suggest trying the Sweet Soy Noodles, pictured above.

4. Red Bowl Asian Bistro

Red Bowl Sushi Best Ormond Restuarant

1582 W. Grenada Blvd. #615

Ormond Towne Square

386-677-7999

10:30am – 10:00pm (Mon – Thurs)

10:30am – !0:30pm  (Fri, Sat)

11am – 9pm (Sun)

This place is pretty new at the time of this post, but I’ve tried it and it’s pretty good for all things Asian if you can’t commit to any one style: There’s Sushi/Japanese dishes as well as Chinese AND Thai. The ambiance is really nice, and the decor of this Asian lunch spot actually improves the experience rather than detract from it. Some other reviews mention some holes in the service, but hopefully with time this restaurant will work out the kinks. The sushi I had (pictured) was great, though!

5. Tomoka Brewery

For after your day at the office is over.

For after your day at the office is over…

188 E. Granada Blvd.

Ormond Beach, FL 32176

Hours:

Sunday 12pm-9pm

Monday 3pm-9pm

Tuesday CLOSED

Wednesday 3pm – 10pm

Thursday 3 pm – 11 pm

Friday 3pm – 12am

Saturday 12pm – 12am

Here’s a twist: As you can see from the beyond-weird hours, this restaurant is not your typical lunch destination in Ormond Beach. But when you manage to leave the office early – or when the hunger pangs start right when you leave your desk at 5 – Tomoka Brewery has THE best wood fired pizza in town. They also have a great selection of local and craft beer, should you choose to imbibe. All the beers on tap are Florida beers. The atmosphere here is very no frills, it doesn’t have the stuffy or desperate feel of an after-work bar – it’s more like a locals’ only, casual beach eatery with a craft beer twist – if that makes any sense whatsoever. If not, go try some of their incredible pizza and see for yourself!
