We feature many events in our What’s Happening Around Work Webb blog series, but there are many things to do all year round here in Daytona Beach, Florida. So for the March edition of What’s Happening, we list some fun things you can do any time of the year in this charming coastal city. Here are some of the top things to do in downtown Daytona Beach.
Explore the Beach
Daytona Beach is a paradise for beach lovers with its pristine beaches. You can soak up the sun, build sandcastles, or go for a refreshing swim. The beach is also a great place to take a stroll or ride a bike. The oceanfront boardwalk offers fantastic views of the Atlantic Ocean and is lined with shops, restaurants, and attractions.
Visit the Daytona International Speedway
If you’re a racing fan, the Daytona International Speedway is a must-visit attraction. The speedway hosts the Daytona 500, one of the most prestigious races in the world. You can take a guided tour of the facility, explore the museum, and even get behind the wheel of a race car.
Take a River Cruise
Daytona Beach is located on the Halifax River, which offers stunning views of the city and the surrounding areas. You can take a river cruise and see some of the city’s most famous landmarks, such as the Ponce Inlet lighthouse, the Main Street Pier, and the Daytona Beach Bandshell.

You can enjoy a meal with a view at one of the many oceanfront restaurants or try some local favorites like fried shrimp, fish tacos, and key lime pie.

Downtown Daytona Beach’s historic Beach Street has a variety of shops and boutiques that offer unique items, including clothing, jewelry, and souvenirs. You can find everything from vintage clothing to handmade crafts to beachwear. The Ocean Walk Shoppes, located on the oceanfront boardwalk, is a popular destination for shopping and entertainment.

What’s Happening for October In Daytona Beach

Volusia Halloween Fest, Sun, Oct 23, 12 – 6 PM, Volusia Mall

Dozens of family-friendly local businesses will hand out candy and showcase what they offer. Kid’s Zone at Family Days in Port Orange

Family Days is an event that is looked forward to every year. This carnival includes parades, vendors, food trucks, beer, One Daytona Kids Zone, and much more! Little Literacy Heroes 3K Fun Run/Walk
Saturday, October 22, 10 am start time
355 N Beach St, Daytona Beach
This event is the third annual fundraiser to support access to books for local children and is the perfect opportunity to stay active and engaged while supporting early literacy in Volusia County. Walk or run to support the need for increased early literacy rates and access to books in your community.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Volusia is a free book-gifting program available to children birth to five years old in Volusia County at no cost to their families. The program mails one high-quality, age-appropriate book to the child each month. Donations from generous community members fully fund it. All proceeds from this event will benefit the more than 3,600 local Volusia County children this program serves. This free book-gifting program currently mails books to the homes of more than 3,800 local children ages birth – 5 years old. Sign up here.

Wellness Run/Walk
Riverfront Esplanade
Sunday, September 4th, 7 am – 9 am
This event is an untimed, fun run or walk. There will be a start/finish arch on the Riverfront Esplanade path near 355 N Beach St., Daytona Beach entrance. Late starts are welcome. Go 1 Mile or a 5k. Strollers welcome! Additional activities for the whole family include Lawn games, Yoga with Renew Yoga, Massages by Be, The Running Elements giveaways & Music on North Lawn. Daytona Beach Downtown Farmers’ Market
Saturday, July 30th, 7 am – 12 noon
100 Magnolia Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114
The Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. It’s a great place to buy locally-grown produce, baked goods, plants, local honey, jams and jellies, juices, handmade jewelry and craft items, Kettle Korn, meat pies, BBQ and other prepared foods, and more!
The Daytona Beach Downtown Farmers’ Market moved one block away from its former home on City Island to its new location on Magnolia Avenue, a new venue known as Market@Magnolia, between Beach Street and Palmetto Avenue.

Work Webb What’s Happening – Daytona Beach
How do you know it’s summer here in Daytona Beach, Florida? When the Summer Concert series is back! A packed schedule includes many tribute bands, so pack a chair and grab your tickets. Here are some bands coming up over the next few weeks, including the 4th of July weekend. Friday, July 24th – Carnival of Crue, A Motley Crue Tribute
For over 15 years, this fantastic tribute band has played many large event stages, top venues, fly-in shows to casinos, and more. So expect all the massive hits done right with a band that looks, sounds and rocks like the real thing!
Saturday, July 2nd – Boxer & Southern Cross
These incredible musicians perform as a Simon & Garfunkel and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tribute band, so there will be loads of fantastic songs. After the show, stay for a colorful fireworks show over the Atlantic you won’t want to miss.
Sunday, July 3rd
The U.S. Bee Gees will do their thing, paying tribute to none other than the Bee Gees. Listen to classics like You Should Be Dancing and Stayin’ Alive all night long!
Monday, July 4th
It’s the Alter Eagles so get ready to rock out to the best Eagles hits. There will be another dazzling firework display after the music ends to celebrate the holiday.

What’s Happening – Daytona Beach
This weekend is race weekend here in Daytona Beach with the Rolex 24. There is no event like the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, which delivers an all-star driving lineup consisting of IMSA regulars plus drivers from other racing disciplines such as NASCAR, IndyCar and Formula 1. For non-race fans, there is a Farmer’s Market this weekend located in historic Downtown Daytona Beach right outside our Work Webb office. You can browse the Farmer’s Market and find all sorts of amazing things.
Located just across the river from the shops, restaurants, attractions and services along scenic Beach Street, the popular Farmers’ Market is open this Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the City Island parking lot next to Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The Farmers’ Market is a “must-see” if you love fresh and organic fruits and vegetables, baked goods, seafood and local food.
So bundle up and enjoy the cooler weather while it lasts!
