How to Have a Safe Halloween in 2020

safe halloween

Ah, the glory of Fall. A slight (very slight as we are in Florida) change of temperature, pumpkins, PSLs and Fall Festivals, Halloween Hayrides and…oh, wait…it is 2020. It is such a shame too because Halloween of 2020 presented the most perfect of circumstances: it is a Saturday, it is a full moon (even better, a “blue moon,” an event that occurs only once every couple of years). But, yet, here we are trying to find a way to have a safe Halloween.

While Halloween might look different this year, that doesn’t mean it should be boring.

Who would have thought a virus in February would still be giving us such heartache in tradition during a time of year most of us look so forward to. While the coronavirus pandemic has interrupted many of our annual traditions, it seems many families are dead set on celebrating Halloween during quarantine. A recent Harris Poll survey suggests that more than 70% of millennial moms are planning to make “the most” of Halloween with their families, with 80% of all surveyed said that heading out to trick-or-treat is at the top of their list of things to do on Halloween.

Here are some low-risk activities to celebrate a safe Halloween, according to the CDC website.

  • Carving or decorating pumpkins with members of your household and displaying them
  • Carving or decorating pumpkins outside, at a safe distance, with neighbors or friends
  • Decorating your house, apartment, or living space
  • Doing a Halloween scavenger hunt where children are given lists of Halloween-themed things to look for while they walk outdoors from house to house, admiring Halloween decorations at a distance
  • Having a virtual Halloween costume contest
  • Having a Halloween movie night with people you live with
  • Having a scavenger hunt-style trick-or-treat search with your household members in or around your home rather than going house to house

However, you plan to celebrate Halloween, stay safe and have a great time.

What’s Happening this Weekend

Beer and Bacon Tour

This tour has two of the best things combined: Beer and Bacon!

This Saturday two of the best things in the world are coming together for a tour. No, Van Halen is not back together – it’s better than that. Bacon and Beer are joining forces for the Daytona Beach Beer and Bacon Tour!  Bacon and Beer! Seriously! Can life get any better? I don’t think so.
So if you have plans this Saturday, and love beer and bacon, cancel your plans and come to downtown Daytona Beach. Stroll down Beach Street tasting multiple different Beers and snacking your way through bacon heaven! The Beer and Bacon will flow on February 17th from 1 pm to 6 pm! Passports are only $20 per person and include a keepsake tasting Beer Mug! Stretching down three blocks from Bay Street to Orange Ave, there will be enough Beer and Bacon to satisfy any thirst and fulfill all the bacon dreams! Each host site will have their selection of Beers for your taste! You can make your way from stop to stop or just hang out and taste everything at one location! Plus, specific locations will have mini menus of bite-size Bacon snacks from $2-$5 for you to get your Bacon fix!!

Have a beer while grubbing on some bacon as you stroll down beautiful historic downtown Daytona Beach! This Saturday, February 17th from 1 pm to 6 pm. To order tickets and get more information this event, go here.

What Our Clients Say

Mimie A

Love this place! It’s clean, professional, and they follow COVID guidelines. There is meeting space and private space and I’ve used both. The office amenities, ie dry erase board, TV, misc office supplies, are helpful and all part of the costs. Great place to meet with clients in between the working from home quarantine days.
